KURTI PATTERN -3

This black and white designer kurti is made with printed black & white cotton cloth with beautiful cut work the the lower side.(both front and back).
In this kurti collar has been attached to the neck.
I have taken ½ metre wide crochet lace purchased from market for making the patch.
25 cms white cotton cloth is being used for making the outline of the patch and rest is used for the lining of the back side.

Cutting Instructions:
First of all measure the length of kurti fold the whole cloth ( as cut work is on both sides) cut it into two parts.(vertically). This will make front and back part of kurti. This is very important  because we have to place the cutwork which is on the lower side of the cloth to the the upper side of back part. This is clearly illustrated in this picture.

Take the back side of the cloth measure the length of patch as required by you cut this part from the bottom.  ( preserve small 3” strip  of full width for sleeves.) Place white cotton fabric of same size to make a lining, stitch lining with piece (this will form a patch for back side)and finally stitch the patch with the rest of the cloth of back side.
Place both front and back part. Now make the drafting and cut according to measurements. For cutting instructions please refer to my earlier post HOW TO STITCH KURTA
As far as front part is concerned first cut the shape of neck place crochet lace as illustrated in picture. Take black and white stripes first stitch them together and then cover the patch as shown in design.

In short first of all prepare front part , back part and sleeves. attach shoulders of front and back part., finish the neck and then add the collar, finally attach sleeves and  give fitting to the kurti.

Hope you will find the instructions helpful.

KURTI PATTERN- 2

In this kurti I have used a cloth material that was especially meant for kurti.

With the help of matching cloth a square patch is being attached to it. Making thin pleats on the cloth  makes a pleated stuff for the patch. Outline of the patch has been made with wide matching sequin border. Again matching  thin lace has been attached to the neckline till the center of the patch to complete the design. Thin lace is also stitched on sleeves.

One thing i want to suggest that if you have purchased a cloth that has a border or different color lines or pattern in bottom and while stitching you want to have it in your cloth. Take a strip of cloth attach to it and fold it with hot iron. this will press the cloth give the perfect finishing finally complete it with stitching. Thus you can retain the border or design As this is self explaintory in this picture.

KURTI PATTERN

This is a simple kurti with full sleeves. Multi colored  matching border has been attached on sleeves, at the bottom of front panel and neck deisign. For cutting and stitching instructions please go through my previous post on kurta making. Pictures are self explanatory.

SALWAR SUIT PATTERN: 2

This is also a party wear suilt made from silk sari. With one sari I prepared 2 kurtas (one with full sleeves of net and other is of quarter sleeves.) and one semi patiyala golden salwar(bottom).
In first kurta border patch is attached and in the second one back neck pattern has been made with golden strips and Zari lace.
At the point where border and sleeves are attached a golden & black decorative lace is attached.
Golden piping is attached on neckline.
Pictures are self explanatory.

This is a short kurti, it goes well with black leggings and golden semi patiyala salwar too.

HOW TO MAKE CORD OR DORI

Today I am showing you the 2 neck patterns.
Neck Pattern 1.
the first neck pattern is a front neck pattern in which double pink and white cord or dori has
been used, after adding piping to the neckline, cord is folded and added.
Neck Pattern 2

In this pattern red and yellow color strpes of cloth are added in a matt form, each stripe is
decorated with golden thread, gives the whole pattern a  embroidery look, after adding
border of red color to the round shape line, cord has been added to tie.
In Both patterns one thing is common is the use of Cord or dori. In first neck pattern the
pattern itself is made from dori while in second pattern dori is attached , the process of
making dori in both patterns is same let me explain.

How to make Cord or Dori

For making dori you need 2 needles One big size and second (Picuture No.1)as small as it
can pass through the 1 one.
1- According to the length of cord take 1'' wide cloth and sew near to fold Picuture No.2
2- On the one edge to cloth place long needle(from back side) in between the cord(Picuture
No.3)
3- With the Help of small neddle stitch cloth with big needle, it shold be tight, while streching
the joint should not be broken.(Picuture No.4) as per picture no.4 whole length of cloth
should be kept on big needle, it is important otherwise you will not be able to stretch the dori.
4- Try to strech the needle(Picture No.5-7) from the cloth and enjoy the fun.
After making for 3-4 times you will be able to make doris of your choice.
